The Seasonal Centre Assistant role at Canolfan Tryweryn, the National White Water Centre, combines on-water activities and centre duties. You will gain a solid understanding of how the centre operates, whilst working towards relevant qualifications and receive suitable equipment.
Contract dates: March - October 2026
Hours: 30 hours per week
Salary: £19,827 - £20,982 annually pro rata

Job description
The centre assistant will undertake a variety of jobs during the busy season. One of the main roles will be aiding the Head Guide and Operations Managers in the daily running of the centre. Working hours will be split between activity sessions and front of house/admin tasks. Training will be provided, but some experience with IT and within the outdoor sector will be beneficial.
Main roles
- Running activity sessions in line with current operating procedures
- Kit maintenance – raft repair and general kit upkeep
- Photography
- Taking bookings
- Front of house – signing-in clients and engaging with members of the public
- Engage in general centre duties such as basic maintenance and cleanliness
Experience/qualifications
Essential
- Full UK driving licence
- Practical knowledge of IT programs
- Hard-working, with a desire to learn new skills
- Confident engaging face-to-face with members of the public
Desirable
- Experience within the outdoor secore
- A-level or degree associated with outdoor education
- Previously worked within the tourism or hospitality industry

Rate of pay
£19,827 - £20,982
26.5 days' holiday (inclusive of Bank Holidays) annually pro rata.
30 hrs per week
The initial contract of 8 months will begin in March 2026.
Being able to work most weekends and Bank Holidays is vital for this role. Likely days of work during our busier periods of May-September will be Friday-Monday.
